Picked these up Wednesday - Yamaha NS-451 for $20/each. Hooked 'em up and one tweeter was blown, so I put in the tweeters from my little KLH bookshelf speakers, and WOW!!! They sound VERY impressive. My Realistics are doing computer duty now. The bass on the Yamahas is much cleaner and more powerful. The highs are very detailed, and the mids are very smooth and musical. They have a very "big" sound to them. These things sound SO good, that I'm actually reluctant to buy more speakers, for fear that they might be a downgrade in sound quality. They're not the best cosmetically (grills have cat snagging and are stained, woofers seem to have mold or something of the sort on them), but the sound totally makes up for it. These are definitely keepers. Oh, and yes, I saved both of the original tweeters in case I find a way to fix the blown one, or if I want to build a center channel with the good one.
